Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Career by Junagal ("Service") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data. For UK data protection law, Junagal acts as the data controller for core account data.
1. Data We Collect
- Account data: name, email, authentication identifiers.
- Profile and CV data: work history, skills, education, certifications, languages, and uploaded text.
- Role data: job descriptions, parsed role signals, and fit/match metadata.
- Usage and events: feature usage counts, workflow events, and timestamps.
- Billing data: plan/status, Stripe customer/subscription references, and invoice metadata.
- Technical data: device/browser logs, error telemetry, and security-related records.
2. How We Use Data
- Provide and maintain account access and core product features.
- Generate role analysis and tailored CV outputs.
- Process subscriptions, entitlement checks, and billing support.
- Monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve quality and safety.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. Legal Bases (Where Applicable)
- Contract performance: to deliver the Service you request.
- Legitimate interests: product security, abuse prevention, reliability, and service improvement.
- Legal obligation: fraud prevention, tax/accounting, and regulatory compliance.
- Consent: where legally required, including non-essential cookies or optional marketing communications.
4. Third-Party Processors
We use vetted service providers to operate the Service, including:
- Supabase for database and authentication infrastructure.
- Stripe for subscription billing and payment processing.
- Google (Gemini API) for AI model-powered generation and analysis.
When you use AI features (for example CV parsing, role analysis, and tailored CV generation), we send job description text and relevant CV/profile content to the Gemini API to produce outputs. We take steps to minimize data shared, including redacting common direct identifiers (for example email addresses, phone numbers, and URLs) from CV text before sending.
We do not store raw card numbers on our servers.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers, when required by law, or in connection with protecting rights, safety, or security.
6. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your residence. Where required, we use contractual and organizational safeguards for cross-border transfers.
7. Retention
We retain account data while your account is active and for limited periods after deletion for legal, tax, fraud, and security obligations. You can export your data and request deletion from Settings.
8. Your Rights
- Access and receive a copy of your data.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated workspace data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing where legally available.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
We aim to respond to verified privacy rights requests within one calendar month.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies required for authentication and secure session continuity. We also offer optional analytics cookies (Firebase Analytics) to understand traffic and improve the Service. Analytics cookies are disabled until you opt in, and you can change your choice later.
See our Cookie Notice for more details.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data. No system is guaranteed to be 100% secure.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
